You should definitely apply for Public Services! The course has helped me so much, giving me a range of industry knowledge, and helping me mature, preparing me for working life.
Liam Brown recognised his passion for the armed forces whilst studying Public Services at Lancaster & Morecambe College, so much so, that he applied for the British Army half-way through his Level 3 course.
Since Leaving LMC, Liam has undergone the British Army recruitment process, including completing medical and ability assessment in Glencorse, Edinburgh, and has just completed his basic training.
I was nervous signing up for the Army but my tutors helped me understand the British Army roles and supported me throughout the application process.
While undergoing basic training at Pirbright Army Training Centre, Liam received the ‘Best Recruit’ award and is now completing his stage two training to become a British Army Driver.
Liam chose to study Public Services at LMC because he was excited at the prospect of being taught by tutors who had served in the Public Services themselves.
While at College, Liam had the opportunity to learn more about his desired career path by speaking to his industry-experienced tutors, visiting British Army camps, attending guest speaker talks and researching Public Services careers in class.
After completing his Level 2 course, Liam chose to continue his studies at LMC by completing a year on Uniformed Protective Services Level 3. Liam spoke fondly of his experience at LMC stating that his course helped him mature and College allowed him to surround himself with a range of new people.
When asked what advice he would give to someone considering studying Public Services at LMC, he said:
You should definitely apply for Public Services! The course has helped me so much, giving me a range of industry knowledge, and helping me mature, preparing me for working life.
