The best bit about my course was winning the league in my second year. Before the season started we had a few key players leave and I don’t think anybody truly believed that we could go and win it again, but we did, and I felt a great sense of pride.”
I would 100% recommended this course to anyone looking into it. Being involved with the reserve team was always a pleasure, you got to play with professional footballers. Not only was this a great achievement but having the opportunity to play against professional teams at professional stadiums is something I will never forget.
When working at Haven, not a day goes by where I don’t put the skills College taught me to use. I have my tutors to thank for believing in me and helping me achieve the position I’m in today.
I was out of education for 24 years and it was just so daunting the idea of studying again. Don’t be scared to give it ago and have a chat with the college and make that first point of contact. Once you’ve done that you feel like it’s doable. The course is challenging but manageable if you commit to it. Ultimately, I wouldn’t have been able to progress in to University without it.
My tutors at College were always ready to help answer my questions, and I found their lessons interesting and relevant. My two main tutors were Chris and Kane and thanks to their help I was able to apply to university and was offered a place. Chris has taught me a huge amount about football. If you have any questions regarding football and coaching, he is the person with all answers, as he has previously worked with a professional football club before becoming a tutor at College, and he has taught me how coaching works at the highest level.
Having the opportunity to volunteer with so many activities was something I really enjoyed. It increased my confidence and helped me develop new skills which helped me get where I am today. I specifically enjoyed helping out at opening evenings and helping people make the big decisions when it comes to further education.
