This course is ideal for anyone wishing to study accountancy and finance alongside a range of complementary business and personal skills.
The purpose of this qualification is to ensure that students are well prepared to progress into a career in business, finance or professional accountancy, or into further education. Students will learn and develop skills needed for financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping and preparing financial statements.
Learners will spend one day a week in College, usually on a Wednesday from 9am-4pm, with flexibility available if required. Home study will also be required, and although learners will have varying needs and abilities, we would recommend an additional 2-4 hours of independent learning a week.
On this course, all units will be assessed individually, these are:
Business Awareness
Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
Tax Processes for Businesses
Management Accounting Techniques
For more information, see link:
You can find more information on these units, in the course specification.
You might also want to consider taking this course as an Apprenticeship. The course content would remain the same, with the same attendance requirements, but you would also be supported in the workplace by both your employer and an assessor from College.
