This exciting qualification is designed to assist students to find their first role working as part of a Cabin Crew. Cabin Crew is a diverse, social and well-travelled career that is popular among our students. The course is designed for students who want broad–based vocational preparation for employment in a Cabin Crew role.

On this course you will complete two qualifications, one in Cabin Crew and one in the Aviation Industry. Each contains 6 core units which will cover a broad range of topics, alongside an individually designed combination of English and maths.

Students are assessed in a variety of ways including written assignments, presentations and practical demonstrations.

Course Overview

As part of the programme, there will be additional costs linked to uniforms as well as various out of college trips. There is also a mandatory trip to an aviation training centre where the learners will be completing practical training as Cabin Crew. This is an exciting learning experience where students are involved in activities such as firefighting and emergency evacuations.

Industry expert guest speakers join us to share their knowledge and experience so students are prepared and ready to join the Cabin Crew workforce. Guest visitors including Jet 2 who host a career session and share an insiders’ view of the company’s recruitment process. This gives students a much better idea of how to research and apply for roles on the company’s careers website.

The units you will cover include:

  • Working as Cabin Crew

  • Aircraft Emergency Situations

  • Making Passenger Announcements on-board an Aircraft

  • Dealing with Passengers on-board an Aircraft

  • The Aviation Industry

  • Customer Service in Aviation

Preparation for Entry to Employment in the Aviation Industry

Industry Links

Students will have the chance to develop transferable skills whilst taking part in 50 hours work placement that is relevant to the role of Cabin Crew. Previous placements have included hotels, restaurants, trains and tourist information offices .This gives students the chance to apply their knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in the real workplace.

Progression Routes

The aim of this course is for you to gain employment within the aviation industry. One of our units is based on the recruitment and selection process where they learners will apply for jobs.

You may choose to progress onto the Travel & Tourism Level 3 qualification or may start your journey into full time employment. Past learners have successfully gained employment with airlines including, Jet 2, British Airways, TUI, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates, to name a few!

There are many exciting roles in the aviation industry, including:

  • Airline Customer Service Agent

  • Airport Information Assistant

  • Cabin Crew

Entry Requirements

To study this course you must:

  • Show enthusiasm for the subject

  • Enjoy working with other people

  • Show a commitment to study (attendance, punctuality & behaviour)

  • Have a proven interest in Tourism

  • Have good interpersonal skills

You must also have 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or higher including English or Maths OR a related Level 1 qualification plus a grade D/3 or higher in English or Maths.
