Barbering Level 2 is a course which focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the Barbering industry. During this course you will gain a variety of skills such as consultation, shampooing and conditioning, styling men’s hair and basic cutting techniques.
This course requires attending College one evening per week and there will be a significant amount of home study involved.
Learners will attend a mixture of both theory and practical sessions to ensure learners develop all the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for their assessments. Assessment methods include; portfolio presentation, exams/online tests and practical performance reviews.
Upon successful completion you will gain a City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Barbering.
There are some progression opportunities available within College including Hairdressing Level 2 and Hairdressing Level 2 Apprenticeship.
The skills developed on this course are globally transferrable and so you will be able to progress onto employment or self-employment locally, nationally or internationally.

There is no formal entry criteria for this course, just a commitment to your studies.
The qualification is suitable for anyone already employed in beauty and hairdressing establishments and anyone who wishes to acquire expertise in this area. As you will be working with members of the public you need to be enthusiastic, confident and enjoy working with people on a daily basis. To remain on the course you will need to show your commitment to the course by having excellent attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
This course costs £332.00, including exam fees.
You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
