The Level 3 Beauty Therapy programme focuses on more advanced treatments which can include a variety of body massage techniques, advanced electrical facial treatments and more holistic therapies such as stone therapy.

Course Overview

The City and Guilds VRQ certificate is a globally recognised qualification, giving candidates a wide scope of employment opportunities. The course is assessed in modules though a mixture of online tests, assignments and practical observations.

Learners will be in College 1 evening a week and based mostly in practical salon based classrooms. Theory elements of the course are delivered alongside the practical to embed the skills and knowledge in a relevant setting. A minimal amount of home study will be required particularly for revision and if assignment based work is required.

Learners are able to access a range of addition training courses from leading industry professionals and brands to further enhance their skills such as Sienna X tanning, LVL lash extensions/lifts and Studex ear piercing (subject to addition fees and availability).

Progression Routes

Upon completion of this course students will also have the opportunity to move into entry level jobs within the Beauty Therapy industry, roles may include:

  • Beauty Therapist

  • Beauty Consultant

  • Nail Technician

  • Salon Receptionist

  • Make-up Artist

Progression in the workplace can lead to management roles and after experience, teaching and training roles.

Entry Requirements

There is no formal entry criteria for this course, just a commitment to your studies.

The qualification is suitable for anyone already employed in Beauty and Hairdressing establishments or anyone who wishes to acquire expertise in this area. As you will be working with members of the public you need to be enthusiastic, confident and enjoy working with people on a daily basis. To remain on the course you will need to show your commitment to the course by having excellent attendance, punctuality and behaviour.

Course Fees

This course costs £1645.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
