The Employer Hub at Lancaster & Morecambe College, through the support of the UKSPF project, have teamed up with Sarah Drake of Elephant in the Room Training to bring you this fully funded training course.

Course Overview

This new half day introductory training course is created using first hand insights and lived experiences. The training is designed to help employers, managers, HR/team leaders and mental health first aiders to positively address the way Cancer is navigated in their workplace. This short course will help enable you to cultivate and encourage an inclusive work environment where staff are better equipped with skills and confidence to support colleagues affected by Cancer.

Objectives:

  • Recognise the impact cancer has in both the Workplace AND Outside of it.

  • Practice active listening and empathy.

  • Create a compassionate working environment.

  • Invest in staff wellbeing leading to greater staff retention and productivity.

  • Understand the latest statistics and your legal duty of care.

  • Ensure you are a Pro-Active and mindful employer.
