This cybersecurity single unit is designed for those interested in learning about cybercrime. You will understand routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurityincluding the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control. Protecting yourself and your business from cyber security risks can seem daunting but there are some simple steps you can take to ensure you have the basics in place.

Successful completion of the course will achieve a Cyber Security Level 2 Award

Course Overview

You will learn about cybercrime and the risks and effects it has on individuals and organisations and will learn more about routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurity including the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control.

The main areas included in this workshop are:

  • What is Cyber Security?

  • Awareness of Cyber Threats of where they come from

  • What steps you can take to protect your business

  • We will also provide you with further information and ways you can help protect yourself and your business.

We have an industry expert leading the tuition on this new course, where sesions will be planned to combine practical and theory to build knowledge and a portfolio of evidence.

Progression Routes

On successful completion of this course you may progress onto:

  • Level 2 Cyber Security

  • Digital Apprenticeships

Entry Requirements

To study this course, you must have a good level of IT and Digital Skill. You will also need to pass an assessment in order to be on the course.

Course Fees

This course costs £101.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
