This is a 1-2 year, Full Time football course, suitable for those who value the importance of academic study and training. In essence, it offers an opportunity for you to gain a recognised qualification whilst working on your football ability, strength and conditioning, as well as your football ambitions. The course offers you the chance to be trained by a UEFA licenced coach, on a Full Time basis, as well as competing at a high level of football.
You will have a good football ability, be involved in practical sport, football coaching and physical fitness classes, during which you will develop your practical knowledge and skills as a footballer and coach, as well as your own personal fitness and training understanding. Female applicants are welcomed and we encourage you to apply.
You will be in College for 5 days a week to complete a mixture of football, fitness and theory sessions and will also be expected to undergo home study to ensure completion of all coursework. Assessment methods will include projects, exams and practical performance observations. The practical to theory ratio for this course is 30:70.
The Football Academy at Lancaster & Morecambe College is a Full Time football programme that runs in line with your academic qualification. Open to16-19 year olds studying Sport & Public Services, acceptance is completed through a trial selection process.

To study Football Studies Level 3 you must:
Show enthusiasm for the subject
Demonstrate evidence of good skills in football
Enjoy working with other people and have good interpersonal skills
Have a commitment to study
To study this course you must also have 5 GCSEs at grace C/4 or higher, including English and Maths OR a related Level 2 qualification PLUS grade C/4 or higher in English and Maths.
In addition to these requirements you must also have previous playing experience, this can include:

We hold several football trials throughout the year which you will be required to attend and individuals will be selected based on performance.
