This qualification aims to provide you with a nationally recognised Maths qualification, as well as the skills needed to function at home, in work and life. The course is suitable for those who have not studied maths recently or may need to equip themselves with the basics.
Delivered in a flexible format that fits around your existing commitments, you will engage in individual study and tutor-taught workshops, where regular attendance required.
With regular attendance and work completed outside of the classroom, it is estimated that you can complete the course in 12 – 15 weeks. On completion of the course you will gain a Functional Skills Level 1 Maths qualification.
During the course you will cover maths problem solving, number, measure, shape and space and data handling.
Topics include:
Number: Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing; Fractions, percentages, decimals, ratio and formulas
Measure, Shape and Space: perimeter, area, volume, money, time, weight and capacity
Data Handling: Tables, graphs, charts, mean, range and probability
