This advanced Hairdressing course is ideal for those wishing to further develop their skills and knowledge in this vocation. The course is a mix of both theory and practical sessions looking at advanced cutting, styling and colouring techniques. Learners will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence and practical assessments will take place throughout the year assessing your practical competence in the application of hair services. Learners’ theoretical knowledge is tested via online tests or assignment work.
Upon successful completion you will gain a City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Hair Services.
This course includes working in the College’s commercial salon where learners will provide services to the public as they would in industry.
Days of study are three per week and there will be a significant amount of home study involved.
There will be opportunities to access additional training courses with Wella at their Manchester Academy as well as opportunities to take part in internal and external competitions.
As part of your course you will undertake two weeks of work placement in a salon, allowing you to experience the real life working environment, developing your confidence and improve your technical skills.
We select and deliver units of study that are relevant, up to date and needed by industry in the workplace. Our commercial salon also runs to ensure students are developing the key employability skills they need in this industry.
