Hairdressing Level 3 is an ideal course for those wishing to further their skills and knowledge in this vocation. The course is a mix of both theory and practical sessions which focus on advanced cutting, styling and colouring techniques.
This course requires attending College one evening per week and there will be a significant amount of home study involved.
Assessment methods include; assignments, coursework, portfolio presentation, exams and practical performance. Learners will be expected to carry out home studies for exam revision and to complete assignments.
Course activities include visits from guest speakers, including annual visits from Steiner Cruise Ships, and outings to competitions and external taught sessions. In the past students have visited the Wella Academy in Manchester and each year our students are given the opportunity to compete in National Hair & Beauty Federation competitions in Blackpool.
Our students also take part in a variety of activities within College such as fundraising events and in-house competitions.
Upon successful completion you will gain a City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Hairdressing.

The skills developed on this course are globally transferrable and so you will be able to progress onto employment or self-employment locally, nationally or internationally.

There is no formal entry criteria for this course, just a commitment to your studies.
The qualification is suitable for anyone already employed in beauty and hairdressing establishments and anyone who wishes to acquire expertise in this area. As you will be working with members of the public you need to be enthusiastic, confident and enjoy working with people on a daily basis. To remain on the course you will need to show your commitment to the course by having excellent attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
This course costs £1645.00, including exam fees.
You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
