This course is designed as a starting point for those interested in pursuing a vocational career within the hair and beauty industry. The qualification will give you the skills to progress onto a full time Level 1 course after successful completion. The majority of the course will be practically based, but there is the expectation that you will also develop a portfolio of evidence of your practical and written work to meet exam board requirements. Maths and English skills are a compulsory part of this course.

No formal qualifications are required for this course but it is recommended that you have the following skills:
a proven Interest in the vocational area
a commitment to study
be able to work independently
demonstrate teamwork skills
are able to listen and respond appropriately
behave in a professional manner at all times
have a willingness to have a go at all tutor led activities
show a commitment to improving own maths and English skills
