This qualification covers complex accounting and finance topics and tasks leading to students becoming confident with a wide range of financial management skills and applications. You will gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.
This course is ideal for anyone interested in pursuing a career in accountancy and finance, offering technical training. The purpose of this course is to increase the skills developed on the Accounting (AAT) Level 3 Advanced Diploma. This can maximise opportunities in new or current employment.
Learners will spend one day a week in College, usually on a Thursday from 9am-4pm, with flexibility available if required. Home study will also be required, and although learners will have varying needs and abilities, we would recommend an additional 3-4 hours of independent learning a week.
This course includes 3 mandatory core units and 2 optional units which will all be assessed individually throughout the year.

You might also want to consider taking this course as an Apprenticeship. The course content would remain the same, with the same attendance requirements, but you would also be supported in the workplace by both your employer and an assessor from College.

Once qualified, and having met AAT’s criteria, students can apply for full AAT membership, which will allow them to use the designatory letters MAAT after their name.
This qualification has no formal entry requirements although we do recommend that you have completed the Accounting (AAT) Level 3 Advanced Diploma, and have a commitment to study and proven interest in the vocational area.
Having a good standard of maths and English will also be key to success on this course. Accountants are the heart of the business, so having great communication skills will also be important for communicating information clearly to different stakeholders.
This course costs £2573.00, including exam fees.
You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
