The Psychology Ascentis Level 2 Certificate is designed to provide you with an effective experience in developing study skills and the initial stages of learning about the discipline in terms of the concepts, theories and perspectives which characterise psychology. The Certificate is intended to offer progression to higher-level study in psychology and also to a range of other social sciences, humanities and care courses.

It could be seen as a complementary course to the Level 2 Pre Access psychology / biology / sociology of health courses and as a pathway to the Level 3 Access course.

Where appropriate, it is possible to study GCSE English Language, GCSE Maths or Functional Skills Literacy and Numeracy in addition to the course.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will preferably have attained Maths and English a level of GCSE grade D/3. You will also need a commitment to study including good attendance, punctuality and behaviour.

Course Fees

This course costs £120.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
