The T Level in Management and Administration is a Level-3, 2-year programme which is suitable for anyone wanting a career within an administration or management role. The course is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
This qualification provides students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training or study in the business sector. It gives you a broad understanding of the industry and job roles, and to develop the core skills you will need to apply when working in the industry.
Students study core content to develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, to include:
Business context – an overview of organisational cultures and values, differenttypes of internal and external stakeholder, different forms of governance andthe impact of organisations on society and the environment
Project and change management – an understanding of the common changemanagement theories and models and how to support and improve projects
Business behaviours – the importance of good communication and adaptingsocial communication styles to professional standards and according topurpose, medium and audience
Quality and compliance – the importance of maintaining and improving qualityin all aspects of public and private sector organisations.
In addition to the core content, students will complete the following occupational specialism; Team leadership and management.
English, mathematics and digital skills have also been embedded throughout the content.
Assessment for the core component is through:
Two knowledge exams
An employer set project (ESP) devised and set by the awarding body
Assessment for the occupational specialism is through an externally set and marked assignment. The programme of study is up to five days a week, which is usually four days in college and one day in an industrial placement. There will be a requirement for students to complete home study as part of this qualification.
During the study programme there will be a programme of enrichment opportunities. You will benefit from inspiring trips and experiences, meetings with industry experts, visits to leading companies in the sector, university visits, and support with university applications, masterclasses from local employers and university experts to name a few.
This course involves a substantial industry placement with an external employer. There is a requirement on the T Level qualification to complete a minimum of 315 hours in a placement setting.
Learners will work with an external business industry employer to apply knowledge and develop technical skills in a real-life business workplace.
The content for this qualification was devised by T Level panels consisting of employers and stakeholders in the industry, and has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure the content prepares learners for the world of work.
When students complete a T Level study programme, they will be able to choose between moving into:
A skilled occupation
Higher or degree level Apprenticeships
Higher level technical study, including Higher Education
Students who complete this qualification can progress into roles such as supervisor, admin assistant, sales administrator, secretary, office manager, business development manager, supply chain manager, or project manager.
Students can also use this T-Level to do a higher-level Apprenticeship or a degree course.
Students can apply for Higher Education programmes relating to the sector. Examples of the progression routes to higher education may include: Business, International Business Management, Marketing, Management, and Business Management.
UCAS points are allocated to the overall T Level grade.
Students need to demonstrate the values and behaviours required for occupational roles in the sector, and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment.
Entry requirements:
5 GCSEs at grade 4 and above including English and mathematics
A Level 2 Diploma qualification in the subject area with GCSE English and mathematics at grade 4.
Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and / or satisfactory reference.

Commitment to study (positive attendance, punctuality and behaviour)
To be able to work independently

Good interpersonal skill
