This qualification aims to explore possible causes which could explain why people behave as they do, helping you to develop your understanding and deal with these situations in an appropriate way. You will look at the impact and possible justification for these behaviours, considering what the root cause could be. This course will equip you with pro-active strategies to support positive behaviour.

You will be provided with a dedicated assessor who will support and encourage you throughout your programme.

On completion of this course you will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour That Challenges from TQUK.

Course Overview

You will be allocated an assessor who will guide, mentor and support you through the qualification.

The course consists of the following units:

Unit 1 - Understand how to recognise that an individual’s behaviour has the potential to intensify

Section 1: Understand key terms associated with behaviour that challenges Section 2: Be able to recognise behaviour that challenges in others Section 3: Understand why an individual may behave in a way that is challenging

Unit 2 - Understand legislation and support relevant to behaviour that challenges

Section 1: Understand legislation relevant to behaviour that challenges Section 2: Understand best practice relevant to behaviour that challenges Section 3: Understand support available for individuals impacted by behaviour that challenges

Unit 3 - Understand how to prepare to manage an incident of behaviour that challenges

Section 1: Understand how to prevent behaviour that challenges through promotion of positive behaviour Section 2: Understand the role of strategy in supporting individuals who demonstrate behaviour that challenges Section 3: Understand the role of communication in supporting individuals who demonstrate behaviour that challenges

Unit 4 - Understand how to manage a situation when an individual is acting in a challenging manner

Section 1: Understand how own actions can impact upon an individual who is exhibiting behaviour that challenges

Section 2: Understand the consequences of behaviour that challenges Section 3: Understand how to manage behaviour that challenges during an incident

Unit 5 - Understand own role in providing support following an incident of behaviour that challenges

Section 1: Understand how to encourage an individual to consider their own behaviour after a challenging incident Section 2: Understand additional support available to those who exhibit behaviour that challenges

You are expected to undertake 2/3/hours per week to keep to the submission dates of each unit.

On completion of this course you will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour That Challenges from TQUK.

This qualification could assist you in gaining the following employment opportunities:

Course Fees

This course costs FREE, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
