At LMC, we are passionate about preparing our learners to progress into meaningful employment. Our Engagement Team are here to provide all of our learners and apprentices with information and advice on courses and entry requirements; from your first visit to campus for an Open Day, right through to you completing your course and graduating from the College, we will support you to find the right information for your individual needs and future plans. We have also been recognised as Careers Champions by the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) and have been awarded a "Careers Excellence" Award - March 2024.
Our tutors are all experts in the subjects they teach, having experience of working within their specialist sectors, and careers education is at the core of our curriculum.
We work collaboratively with partner primary and secondary schools, providing bespoke careers workshops and taster sessions for their pupils.
We have recently been recognised as 'Careers Champions' by the Careers & Enterprise Company, for the work we have done embedding careers across our whole curriculum.

It's always good to plan for the future. The Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance (CEIAG) service at College offers careers and education advice to current students at Lancaster & Morecambe College.
We value CEIAG at LMC and our advisors, Jake & Briony, are both L6 qualified. We also have a Strategic Careers Lead (Charlotte) and an Operational Careers Leader (Victoria) who oversee the development of our careers programme.
We can support the learner with a range of activities, including but not limited to;
Choosing the right course is really important and with a bit of help from our friendly, qualified CIEAG advisors, our learners can browse all available options and then receive the support necessary in order to move forward with their applications.
Lancaster & Morecambe College fully supports and is committed to providing high quality careers education, information and guidance (CEIAG) to all learners and apprentices while enabling them to make the most informed decisions regarding any opportunities which are open to them.
LMC will support learners and apprentices to understand the world of work fully, to appreciate what skills, qualifications and behaviours they will need to develop and sustain successful employment.
The College encourages learners to consider all of their opportunities and broader career including those within and outside of their immediate/local community. This social mobility awareness is fundamental to the education process as well as the development of career aspirations.
Our Careers Programme has been designed to meet the needs of all of our learners, through a range of structured tutorials, sector-specific events and targeted workshops & sessions. Learners should make informed choices regarding careers, based upon local and national LMI and employment opportunities. We work closely with our partner employers and stakeholders to equip our learners with the skills and qualifications they will need to succeed in their future careers.
Moving on from school is an exciting time, and it's important that your child finds the right course for them. Here at LMC, we offer completely impartial advice and guidance to help you and your child make that choice.
We support our students to be self-directed and highly motivated and ready to progress onto higher study or into meaningful employment. The College’s established links with over 700 employers and work-related technical expertise means our curriculum is closely aligned with the needs of businesses, ensuring our students are well prepared for their future careers or continuing to study at university.
Parents/Carers are also welcome to contact Lancaster & Morecambe College about the support available for their child and in exploring possible progression opportunities.
