I love working at Lancaster & Morecambe College with such an amazing team that are passionate about delivering outstanding teaching across the departments. The Apprenticeship courses at LMC are well developed programmes that offer students amazing opportunities and experiences, whilst allowing them to earn while they learn as they progress through the Apprenticeship.
Clare Brown started working at Lancaster & Morecambe College in April 2018. Clare works in the work based learning team as our Lead Training Co-ordinator here at LMC.
In Clare's role, her main responsibilities are to take care of all the Hairdressing Apprenticeships. She works very closely with the apprentices that have chosen to train through the College and their employers, making sure everything can run smoothly and the apprentices are getting the right level of training for the courses they are doing to achieve their qualification.
She also makes sure all the students receive all the support they can to complete their course internally and externally within the workplace and that they have access to the best training possible to achieve their goals.
Clare described that she loves working at LMC and having such a dedicated team to work with that make their main focus the progression of the students.

In my role as a course tutor I’m responsible for ensuring that my students develop in many areas, and not just Hairdressing. I like to encourage my students to improve their well-being as well as support them with their personal development and learning journey, to gain the knowledge to be successful within their course to achieve the qualifications they need to progress in the industry.
I enjoy teaching this qualification a lot because all the apprentices show a real passion for the hairdressing industry. They all leave the course with the skills and knowledge to build their own client bases or set up their own businesses within the hair industry. Seeing the learners confidence grow more and more each week is my favourite part of the role.
My favourite part of working at Lancaster & Morecambe college is watching students progress and supporting them with their learning. I also love knowing they are learning within a hairdressing environment and being able to see them develop their skills and knowledge in hairdressing.
I love to see the difference between a student starting the course and then when they leave their course. They always gain confidence thanks to their new skills and it's amazing to see them leave with their qualification knowing that I have contributed in helping them achieve it.
