Jon started working at Lancaster & Morecambe College in 2010 as a part time lecturer, after a variety of roles in business and management. He now teaches on our full time T Level in Management and Administration Level 3.
Our Business T Level course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher education. The Business course has a focus on Team Leadership & Management, but it still covers other core topics, allowing you to progress onto many sectors within the business world. The course also includes a minimum of 2 weeks work placement, giving you a space to put your theory into practice.
Business fascinates me as a subject; successful business people constantly develop new ways of doing things and respond to changes in trends and demands. My role allows me to prepare the next generation of business people, who will be working in an ever more demanding world. Through my job I can share my passion with my students and teach them skills, knowledge and behaviours that will help them in their chosen careers for the rest of their lives.

It’s really difficult to state just one thing I love about working at Lancaster & Morecambe College because there are so many! I really wanted to work here because the college has a fantastic reputation. I love introducing new ways of working and keeping up with relevant trends to improve the course, and I really enjoy the supportive environment that we create for our students.
Industry specific apprenticeships are a great way to learn new skills and knowledge, achieve a recognised qualification and earn a wage. Customer service is the corner stone of every successful business, and courses at LMC will help you identify, improve and introduce these skills successfully.
I enjoy being part of the team and thinking of new ways to support local businesses in realising their potential. Watching learners transition from a one-day course to gaining qualifications motivates me to continue teaching at LMC.
Teaching is my favourite part of the role, I love being able to help people reach that lightbulb moment in class! I also enjoy being able to inspire the next generation of Residential workers.
